Thought It was time for an Update

So I had a nice little week of "pure hell" last week. A final lecture exam on Tuesday followed by a midterm on Thursday as well as a formal lab due and a final lab exam on Friday.

All of this was followed by my own pity party on Friday with a lovely little bottle of wine.

Little Black Dress Chardonnay

Then finished off the week with FSTS ... the final initiation for the pledges (now new sisters) of Iota Beta Chi

I have booked my flight home for the holidays. :D

Just a note: If Chardonnay isn't your cup of tea, Little Black Dress also makes an amazing pinot grigio. I have personally never had the merlot ... mainly because as those of you who know me know - I do NOT drink red wine!

PS. Drinking wine is does NOT count as to real "drinking" of alchol - I KNOW this because my mom taught me so.

Longest Day Ever

So, I worked from 7am til 4pm today... and it was good - my feet hurt which is in part my own fault for wearing my boots ...  probably wont DO that again!! Wear the boots for a nine hour shift that is!

anyways it wasnt a terrible shift ... it didnt feel overly long or anything -  it was pretty busy! Well it was a holiday special in the mall which of course we (by "we" I mean the store at which I work - The GAP) participated!

20% most everything in the store!
Some people went a little crazed but it was fun!

I am now having a nap before the fundraiser for tonight! IBX is hosting a candy necklace fundraiser in which we sell candy necklaces in one of the local bars :)
Its going to be a good time :)

I have the Best Auntie Ever

My auntie Anne of r-anne-dom knits and sews lots of cool stuff! Anyways, that's only part of it; being her "favourite" niece and all she has made a purse called the 'Jessica'. Better than that though she made it in two of my sorority's colours! Burgundy and gold :) Iota Beta Chi Forever!

She even made some matching key chains and true to her she wrote (or rather typed) me a letter; she sends me letters when I am away at school.

However, I am not at school yet - flight is Monday, classes start Wednesday.

But, I love my new purse and just had to take pictures and upload them for all to see the coolness of it :)

I hope everyone is getting their shopping/packing done for back to school (or back to work)! So much for the summer, hardly had any nice weather ...

16 January 2009

Its been a month! and I'm sorry

I am sad to report a few things,

first I should really update this more often then I do.
So, I have made it a sort of new year's resolution.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

~ I hope every one's year is filled with happiness and personal success.
~ Don't forget to help others, listen more, laugh more, and live your life the way you want to.

However, I do not believe in new years resolutions, I do not think you should have to wait until the beginning of a new year to set goals for yourself -- I think that anytime you feel something should change in your life you should just make your goal! ITS YOUR LIFE! ~ ACCOMPLISH THINGS that are important to YOU and make them at ANYTIME during the year.

Which brings me to my other sad thing, and as sad and painful as it is, I feel as though I need to say something about it. A good friend of my family, passed away just before Christmas. My good friends Ma and Mi's father died. He was diagnosed with severe lung cancer a few months prior, and even though it was known he didn't have much time left, it was still a shock.

Over the holidays I was torn, I would go out with friends and be having a good time, then either during or just after i had gotten home I felt guilty. I guess its a part of grieving - I don't know, or when you feel like you should be all smiling and look happy when all you want to do is sit in the dark. Also, when people who don't know about what's going on in your life and comment that you look sad, you feel an obligation to explain, but then they just say oh that's sad, or that's too bad, or it'll be OK or they giving you pity glances - it makes you want to SCREAM!

However, there Ma's girlfriend was pregnant, she had the baby a month early so Rob got to see the baby, which was wonderful.

Now, there are good things that are going on, and as sad as I am and I think I always will be, good things are happening in my life, so don't be too sad.

I am still the Philanthropy chair for my sorority, which I love, I am excited because I have some really cool new ideas for us and our local GLOs!

Classes have started once again. I am taking 4 courses and I hope that this semester goes really well in all aspects. Class, my roomies (love them all), my sisters, and my friends and my family, I want to get things figured out.

But, as of now I need to get organized, clean my room (and the kitchen, if there is enough hours in the day). Also, gotta start on my homework; goodness second week of classes and rush and the insanity of school is already in full swing.

you know you love me, insanity and all

HEY! Pay Attention its I-Week!

Hey all,

This is the craziest and most fin and exciting few weeks of my life ever, it kicked off with the 11th Annual IBChi Sorority Ball :D - good times and bonding with all my sisters - special love goes out to V! and K and her new baby boy! :D

pictured: all sisters (and soon-to-be sisters) with our Cutie Pie
(the ball was Saturday)

Monday was the day of Charm (Philanthropy - I am so proud of the pledges they collected donated lots of wonderful things to the women's shelter)
Tuesday the pledges put on such an awesome social / fundraiser :D
Today is the Day of Joy and Friday is the Day of Beauty and Saturday is the final steps for the pledges :D good luck to them all.

so my life seems a little glamorous at the moment, hanging out with my sisters, bonding and watching movies and eating popcorn well reality check into the rest of my life -------

School is insane by Friday I have to - write a psychology paper, do a presentation with a written report, catalog and organize my lab book for fish ecology oh and make it to the Lifting of the skirts by 7 .... thus the insanity of this week is here. However, my insanity hopes to be short lived, relaxing on Sunday - but I also have a presentation for the following Thursday good thing is its a group project so the work is divided! ... hypothetically right? I know that's what you are thinking and my answer is YES it is! My group kicks butt! We work well together. :D
Loves
oh and I have decided to start temporarily compile memoirs we will see how long it lasts
seeing as how finals start december 1st
However, I will be done quickly since only 3 of classes have official finals so I will be flying home on the 5th - WOOT!!
you know you love me and my craziness,
xoxo

06 November 2008

So, blogging is difficult with all my school work, however, I fear it may become worse in the winter semester with three full biology courses.
So to get everything up to date, my life is going fairly well, of course there is the stress of school and planning the philanthropy events for the sorority. Also, some fun news for a fundraising we are creating a calendar we had the photo shoot this past weekend, it was lots of fun. Good bonding time with my sisters.
School has been good for the most part I am doing well on my assignments and tests. My exams will be finished super early thus since family Christmas which is very exciting since I haven't been in attendance for three years. So I off to book a flight home this afternoon after class.
The only bad part is at the moment is that I am unemployed. I feel as though I have been searching for a job for EVER! Although, for the holidays I hope to pick up some banquet shifts once home. I'll keep you posted.
Anyways, I hope to do better to update.
xoxo,
